Frequently asked questions

When do the Salmon run?

Commercial fishing in Cook Inlet starts on mid-June and finishes early September. We fish on Monday’s and Thursdays, and catch what we catch! Fresh fish is in our shop Tuesday and Fridays, until supplies last. The primary run is Sockeye salmon, though we also get some Pink, Keta, and Silver Salmon. Calling the shop to get on the fish list is the best way to put in your fish request.

What kind of processing do you do?

We head and gut all our fish when they come into the shop. This preserves the fish by not cutting into the flesh and ensuring the highest quality. You can buy them whole and headed and gutted fresh on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, or while supplies last. We then start to fillet the fish and vacuum package them before they go into the blast chiller. Filleting and freezing is done by request, so call in early to get on the list!

Do you do custom processing?

We do not custom process, we sell the fish Bob Wolfe catches on F/V Aghileen, or bought from other fishermen in Cook Inlet.

Do you ship?

We do ship! Call the shop to talk through options. We generally have ability to ship come August, after the run slows down some though we can fulfill some orders during the season.
